What if USA reaches AGI first ?

Some claim that that (US reaches AGI first) is by far the worst thing to happen. Wait. Does that mean those folks believe that AGI has to happen somewhere else ? Russia ? China ? Miyanma ? Japan ? Syria ? Israel ? Iran ? or North Korea ?

 

Considering the # of papers being published on AGI, either US or China will get there 1st. Assuming the 1st country will dominate and conquer the world, which country do you want to be in ? US or China ? Trump or Xi ? Hard to choose ? It won't be a matter you can choose, like it or not.

 

What is likely clear is: either country takes the crown, that won't be good for middle class or low income folks. Everyone might need to hope AGI would happen in Vatican if anywhere at all. (I know there is no such hope)
